Centering Music and lighting of altar candles
*Responsive Intent
One: O my soul, praise the Holy One!
All: I will praise the Holy One all my life, sing to my God while I have my being.
One: Do not trust in rulers, or in any mortals, for they have no lasting power. When they breathe their last, they return to the dust. Happy are those who trust in God; the God of Sarah and Abraham, Rebecca and Isaac, Rachel, Leah, and Jacob.
All: Happy are those whose hope is in the Creator of heaven, earth, and sea, and of all that is in them.
One: The Holy One keeps faith forever, does what is right when we are oppressed, gives bread to us when we are hungry, and sets us free from every prison. The Holy One gives sight when we are blind, and raises us up when we are worn down.
All: The Holy One reigns forever.
Lighting of the Advent Candle Love
Introduction
Advent Illumination Light One Candle
Scripture Reading I John 4:9-11
God’s love was revealed in our midst in this way: by sending the Human One into the world, that we might have faith through the Anointed One. Love, then, consists in this: not that we have loved God, but that God has loved us and has sent the Human One to show us the Holy Way. Beloved, if God has loved us so, we must have the same love for one another.
Lighting of the Candle – Love
All: We light this candle to proclaim the coming of the light into the world. With the coming of this light there is love. Such great love helps us to love God and one another.

Morning Prayer Concerns and Celebrations
Prayers of the People and Lord’s Prayer
Our Mother-Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kindom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kindom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
