A caution regarding Prayers of the People online: Folks gathered in-person often recount a lot of detail in their prayers concerning other members or family (“Elderly Name, living alone, experiencing isolation…”). In a private, in-person gathering, this information may be safe, but online, it can expose vulnerable people to harm, since we can’t control who will join the gathering or access it later online. Please contact the Pastor directly by text or phone with prayer requests. Pastor Nathan will be prudent in offering prayers i.e. “For First name only, in need of healing”; “For First name only, comfort in grief” etc. Please contact the pastor directly with news of those needing extra pastoral care.

A Children’s Worship Sheet is at bottom of this order of worship.

One: Even now the Peaceful One is drawing near.
Many: Even now, the day of our salvation is at hand.
One: The God who comforts us speaks tenderly to her people.
Many: The Shepheard who feeds us longs to take us into his arms.
One: While we watch and wait for steadfast love and faithfulness to meet,
Many: While we wonder if justice and peace will ever kiss,
One: We can prepare the way of the Lord.
Many: We can clear a path for him in our hearts and in our world.
One: In these days of setback and struggle, we choose to prepare not despair.
Many: In a world drunk on wealth and power, we choose to walk the path of peace.
One: For such a time as this, the Holy One comes speaking peace.
Many: For such a time as this, we are called to make peace.
One: Get ready! Our savior comes.
Many: Get ready! The peace of Christ is given for one and for all.
Candles are lit, silence is kept.
All: For such a time as this, fill us with your peace.

Morning Prayer Concerns and Celebrations
Prayers of the People and Lord’s Prayer

Our Mother-Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.

Invitation to the Table
One: We remember and give thanks that, on the night before Jesus lay down his life for his friends he gathered at the table with them one more time.
He took the bread, blessed it and gave it to them saying:
“Take and eat: for this is my body.”
And after supper, as Jesus looked forward to God’s long-awaited day of joy and power, he took the cup of wine, again gave thanks and praise and said:
“Take this, all of you, and drink.
This is the cup of the new covenant in my blood. I will share this with you again in the reign of God.
Share this bread and this cup in memory of me.”
Let us therefore proclaim the mystery of our faith:
All: Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ comes again!

One: Come now, Holy Spirit of God— As you were present at creation, be present now, and let these gifts of bread and cup become for us the bread of life and the cup of blessing. As You were sent by Jesus to accompany us on our journey of faith, be present now, and transform this gathering, in receiving this bread and cup, into God’s Beloved Community, Friends in Christ.
As Christ taught the disciples, so let us pray:
All: Our Mother-Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
They Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
One: May this meal nourish us and refresh us, may it strengthen us and renew us, may it unite us and keep us in God’s gracious love, now and forever. Amen

Prayer of Thanksgiving (after communion)

Leader: Let us pray our prayer of thanksgiving.
All: God of love, we give you thanks for satisfying our hungry hearts with this meal. Send us from here to reveal your love in the world. Inspire in us the resolve and the courage, the dedication and devotion, to do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly one another. Amen.
